Apartment rentals vs. Hotel – when booking an apartment is a smart option

Hotel or apartment? - you might find yourself wondering what to choose while searching some accommodation for your city break trip in Poland, family holidays or just a short term business stay.

The choice is not easy, as nowadays all major cities in Poland, like Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk or Poznan, offer a great number of rental options, such as hotels, serviced apartments, holiday homes, aparthotels, b&b or guesthouses, at any budget, property class , with a variety of facilities and services offered.

Surely, for stays of just one or two nights, and especially for a single traveller, you may prefer to book a hotel room, however, we can assure you, that even for a few days stay, there are definitely more benefits of renting an apartment compared to staying in a hotel, especially in terms of convenience and amenities.

Just give us a few minutes to explain why.

This is the most obvious advantage of staying in a serviced apartment.
Instead of a tiny hotel room, you get more extra space – living room, separate sleeping area, kitchen and dining area. You have much more space to relax or work (if you need), to invite guests or hold meetings.
This extra space is especially important for families – finally there is enough room to play and just stay together, have meals or relax after a day of sightseeing. Not forgetting to mention all the space we have for all the extra items you need when travelling with children that you can never fix in a regular hotel room.
Also, groups of friends will definitely appreciate to stay in an apartment as a more comfortable and less expensive solution compared to booking 2, 3 or even 4 hotel rooms.

Usually there is no doormen and no concierge (except aparthotels), so you can get some assistance and information on what to see, where to go, tips on food, restaurants, shopping and cultural events the moment you check in. Most often you will also find a complimentary set of maps and tourist information leaflets available in the flat.

Also, you have to keep in mind that the apartments are non cleaned on a daily basis (unless you pay extra).

In case you prefer 24 hours reception assistance, as well as fresh towels and daily sheets change, you'd better opt for a hotel.

Staying in an apartment, you get a completely equipped kitchen, not only a small fridge bar filled with some drinks you have to pay extra.
You get a lot of space for storage, together with all necessary cooking utensils, as well as fridge, cooker, oven, coffee machine, toaster and even a microwave or a dishwasher.

You can really feel home away from home preparing your favourite home food, try fresh fruit or vegetables you find on the place, or just have breakfast the way you like and without all this morning hassle of a hotel bar.
Not forgetting that cooking on your own is a much cheaper option compared to eating out every day and sometimes wasting your time and money on food that you even do not like.

Great alternative also for families with children as you can organize your meals the way and time you like.It is nice to have a choice and be able to try some local restaurant or just cook at home.
Also, many apartment agencies or aparthotels offer a possibility to have breakfast or dinner delivered to the apartment, in case you are too tired to cook or just lack of inspiration for today's dinner.

Another advantage is to have a washing machine and ironing facilities in the apartment, especially if you are on a long trip.

Last but not least, internet access. Usually included in the apartment rate, which is another advantage as many hotels often charge it extra or it is only available in common areas. That means, you have to leave the room any time you want to check your email or see the news, which can be a little bit frustrating.

Renting an apartment is more likely to save you some money. Usually a studio apartment or one bedroom flat can be the same price (or usually less) as an equivalent standard hotel room. For longer stays the rates become even more convenient.
What is more, you save on food, in case you cook on your own, and laundry (you have a washing machine in the flat).
Especially convenient for families or couples/ groups of friends sharing one apartment instead of booking multiple hotel rooms.

Short term apartment rentals can be a nice and cost effective solution for those that come to Poland as tourists or on business and plan to stay at least 3 nights.

You will definitely appreciate more space, comfort and freedom of your own flat.
There you can also feel more like a local and less as a tourist, can feel the real atmosphere of the city.

Having a choice between budget and luxury accommodation, from studio flats to even 3 bedroom apartments in different locations you can surely find the best option for you.
